Gårda Textil
The Astrid tie jacket is a lovely garment that can be worn both indoors and outdoors depending on which fabric you sew it in and, of course, the weather. It has a slightly dropped and somewhat shorter sleeve and is tied with a tie belt with belt loops. The pattern includes pockets, but in heavier fabrics these can become a little bulky. It is “true to size,” but if you choose a heavier fabric and want to use the tie jacket as a jacket, I recommend going up one size. If you want, you can also lengthen both the front and back pieces as well as the sleeves. If you lengthen the bodice, you must remember to lengthen the collar bands by the same amount.
The pattern is printed on a heavier paper that can be kept. The instructions are printed in color with pictures in a step-by-step guide so that you can keep moving forward. Everything is delivered in a bag where you can store both the pattern sheet and the instructions.
Fabric choice
Astrid can be sewn in several different fabrics; wool, lined jacquards, denim, etc. make a heavier jacket, while you can just as well choose viscose, cotton, or lyocell for a lighter and perhaps dressier jacket. In the picture, I have sewn the jacket in a lined jacquard, as well as a wool fabric.
Sizes and fabric requirements
A pattern sheet for sizes xs-xxl is included, along with clear instructions so that you can easily sew my Astrid tie jacket. Look at the picture to see how much fabric is needed for your size.
